Here’s how CriticSite came together using this work at home guide.

First I researched my topic using the keyword tool here and discovered that there are a fair amount of searches involving the word review.

After determining what the topic of my new site would be I used the Smart Search for domain names here.  This tool helps you find available domain names based on a keyword.  With the help of this tool I found and registered my domain name.

Since I already have a hosting plan that supports multiple domains I didn’t need to purchase another one.  The host I use also automates the install of many popular packages like blogs, forums and shopping carts.  I used their interface to install the latest version of Wordpress for my site.  After a few minutes changing the default install values I was ready to pick a theme.

So far I’ve spent about 45 minutes on this project and already I have a working site.  I still have to adjust the theme and integrate some ads, but I’ve only invested less than an hour so far.

I ended up customizing one of the default Wordpress themes myself to get the look I wanted for the site.  This was the longest single step in the process and took about an hour.  This included some custom programming to add dynamic content to the main page.

Adding the Google AdSense ads was a snap and only took a few minutes.  based on the heat map I choose to add them down the left hand side of the site.  I didn’t add any affiliate ads to the site as I figured I would include them in the posts I did.

So there you have it!  A fully functional site in less than two hours.  I haven’t added any content to it or promoted it in any way whatsoever I know, but with only two hours invested in it so far that leaves plenty of time for promotion.

Having started in this business without the help of an honest resource like this has wasted hours of my time.  I hope that it helps someone start their work at home business and make it a success.
